Meet Your Hearing Care Team

Patient Care Coordinator

Susan comes to Heroes of Hearing following more than 20 years serving as a registered nurse in acute and home care as well as health education and counseling. She believes in the dignity of all peoples, honoring their life experiences and promoting healing. Susan enjoys reading, writing, volunteering at her church, and whenever possible, visiting her twin sister in Phoenix.

At Heroes of Hearing, we believe that exceptional hearing care begins with a team that truly listens. Our specialists combine years of professional experience with a genuine passion for helping people live fuller, more connected lives. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted with warmth, patience, and understanding — because we know that hearing care is personal.

Every patient has a story, and we take the time to understand yours. Whether you’re coming in for your first hearing evaluation, troubleshooting your devices, or exploring new technology, our team’s goal is to make every visit feel supportive, educational, and empowering. We use advanced diagnostic tools, real-ear verification, and personalized programming to ensure your hearing aids perform at their very best — but what truly sets us apart is our heart.

We’re here to help you hear, connect, recharge, and live happy — because at Heroes of Hearing, you’re not just a patient, you’re part of our community.

Professionally, Halley dedicated seven years of her career to working at a hearing aid center in Northern California, where her commitment to helping others shone through. Now, we are excited to have her join the Heroes of Hearing team, where she will continue to bring her compassion and expertise to support those in need.

Patient Care Coordinator

Ashley, a Tucson native, has long been passionate about community health and the medical field. She began her career in dentistry at a young age, where she discovered a genuine love for patient care. Driven by a desire to expand her impact, she earned her degree in Public Health with a minor in Health Promotion from the University of Arizona and completed an internship researching holistic dentistry. This experience deepened her curiosity about wellness and broadened her perspective on the interconnected nature of health.

With over eight years of clinical expertise in dentistry and a strong public health foundation, Ashley has developed a well-rounded approach to patient care. Her ability to foster trust, communicate with compassion, and provide personalized guidance has been central to her professional success.

Now transitioning into the hearing field, Ashley is eager to bring this same dedication to helping individuals improve their quality of life. Her interest in holistic sciences, commitment to education, and patient-centered approach make her well-equipped to connect people with the care and resources they need to thrive.

Outside of her professional life, Ashley is dedicated to her own well-being through yoga, dance, and rock climbing. She also dreams of cultivating a greenhouse, where she can grow her own garden and harvest fresh vegetables.

As an entrepreneur Russell wears many hats, but his favorites are those of proud husband and father. His family has grown to a whopping 8 children; five beautiful, dramatic daughters and three handsome, energetic sons. And one saintly wife! He loves playing with them and watching them grow. He is a life-long learner and is actively learning the secrets to creating a thriving life and is on a mission to impact the world and help others create a legacy of a life well lived!

THE CALL TO CHICAGO

2012

In 2012, Russell was introduced to the world of hearing healthcare by a friend. After months of intensive training he became licensed in Illinois and was asked by one of the largest privately owned hearing practices in the US to run their 3rd oldest clinic. The family of now six moved to Chicago, IL and made some lifelong friends.

After four successful years Russell began to notice subtle changes coming down from corporate. He had always enjoyed the friendships he was able to form with his patients and strove to provide the best service possible. But now the powers that be were shifting their focus from patient healthcare to dollar signs. The writing was on the wall that the company was going to be sold and anyone could be on the chopping block. This uncertainty caused him to resign and seek out an opportunity for growth and the ability to support his growing family.

THE WALL

2016

In 2016 the family of now eight (!) moved to Tucson, AZ to begin a new hearing practice from scratch. This new company promised equity and a chance to expand, however that turned out to be more smoke and mirrors. Thoroughly frustrated Russell resigned and he and Jenny did some major soul searching.

HEROES OF HEARING

EST. 2018

In 2018 Russell started his own independent hearing practice, Heroes of Hearing. Now he would be able to help his patients to the best of his ability without answering to ‘the man’.

Traditional healthcare has become a numbers game and a huge problem. Practitioners are scheduled months out and patients wait for hours in a crowded waiting room. Once they are finally seen they are often treated like a number and have mere minutes of face time. They often return home confused and frustrated.

With these challenges in mind, Russell founded Heroes of Hearing which prides itself on their ability to offer prompt, personalized service that keeps the needs of the patient as their number one priority.

Now his patients are not only hearing better but feeling better.

GIVE BACK

our png

One of the ‘elephants in the room’ in our world today is the reality of human trafficking. We are proud to offer support to Operation Underground Railroad, a non-profit that physically goes into different countries and sets up and executes sting operations to rescue kids from sex trafficking and human slavery.

Another organization we support is Save the Kids, which helps save kids from teen suicide and social media addiction.

Heroes of Hearing is humbled to be able to support these two amazing organizations who strive to support and improve the lives of the innocent children of the world.
